1.What is HPEG?
HPEG water-reducing admixture can be used in the preparation of retarded concrete, precast concrete, cast-in-place concrete, high-performance concrete, high-flowability concrete, self-compacting concrete, and mass concrete. It is widely applicable in high-speed railways, large-scale bridges, water conservancy, hydropower, nuclear power, subways, highways, harbor docks, and various industrial and civil construction projects.
2.How it Works?
The molecular structure of polycarboxylate superplasticizer (HPEG) exhibits a "comb-like" or "dendritic" configuration, featuring a main chain with multiple side chains of certain length and rigidity. These side chains can adsorb onto the surface of cement particles, forming a three-dimensional cross-linked structure that hinders particle agglomeration, thereby achieving dispersion (i.e., water reduction).
This steric hindrance effect does not weaken over time, making the dispersing performance of polycarboxylate superplasticizers more durable.
